The Equipment Procurement Expediter position is an exciting opportunity to join PM Group’s growing Southeast USA Outsourced Technical Services (OTS) team, based out of our office in Apex, NC and supporting a client site in the Raleigh-Durham / Eastern North Carolina area. Outsourced Technical Services (OTS) is an integral part of PM Group’s ability to support clients across the complete project lifecycle. We provide experienced technical professionals who complement client project teams and help drive execution across capital projects, manufacturing readiness, commissioning, qualification, and operational support.
PM Group is supporting a major capital expansion program in a regulated manufacturing environment and is seeking an Equipment Procurement Expediter to support procurement execution for critical equipment packages, long-lead materials, spare parts, vendor deliverables, and project schedule needs. This is a hands-on, client-facing role focused on keeping procurement activities moving, reducing delivery risk, and supporting schedule certainty across a large capital project.

- Support procurement and expediting activities for capital equipment packages, long-lead materials, vendor-supplied systems, project spare parts, and critical deliverables.
- Expedite equipment and materials tied to capital projects, including fill-finish, packaging, process equipment, utilities, electrical, automation, facility, and manufacturing support systems.
- Track purchase orders, requisitions, supplier commitments, lead times, fabrication status, shipment dates, delivery milestones, and past-due items.
- Follow up with OEMs, equipment vendors, suppliers, freight providers, and internal stakeholders to resolve delivery risks and keep critical items moving.
- Support project procurement teams by maintaining open order reports, critical item trackers, shortage reports, procurement status updates, and escalation logs.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineering, construction, procurement, quality, automation, maintenance, operations, and client stakeholders.
- Identify schedule risks related to equipment procurement, vendor delays, documentation gaps, shipping constraints, or material shortages.
- Escalate issues early and help drive corrective action plans to protect project schedule and site readiness.
- Participate in supplier meetings and vendor follow-ups related to delivery dates, technical documentation, equipment status, and project priorities.
- Support procurement documentation, purchase order accuracy, goods movement, vendor setup, supplier communication, and system updates as needed.
- Report procurement and expediting metrics to project leadership and client stakeholders in a clear, accurate, and professional manner.
- Operate in a client-facing project environment requiring consistent follow-through, urgency, and strong communication.

- 5+ years of procurement, expediting, project buying, supply chain, equipment purchasing, materials coordination, or project procurement experience.
- Experience supporting capital projects, manufacturing expansions, equipment installations, facility upgrades, packaging lines, fill-finish operations, or regulated production environments.
- Hands-on experience expediting equipment, long-lead materials, spare parts, vendor deliverables, or time-sensitive project materials.
- Experience with capital equipment packages such as fill-finish equipment, packaging equipment, process systems, utilities, electrical systems, generators, automation components, or facility support equipment strongly preferred.
- Ability to track supplier commitments, fabrication status, purchase orders, delivery dates, shipment status, and project-critical materials through completion.
- Experience working with OEMs, equipment vendors, suppliers, freight providers, construction teams, engineering teams, or client project stakeholders.
- Ability to identify and escalate schedule risks related to late equipment, incomplete documentation, vendor delays, or procurement bottlenecks.
- Experience maintaining open order reports, procurement trackers, shortage reports, KPI updates, or project status dashboards.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving capital project environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interface professionally with vendors, project teams, and client stakeholders.
- Experience with SAP, Ariba, JIRA, Excel, or similar procurement/project systems preferred.
- Pharmaceutical, biotech, GMP, life sciences, medical device, food, chemical, or other regulated manufacturing experience preferred.
