Job Description

Requires the ability to use hand tools to perform labor, basic knowledge of construction and tools, and ability to learn and carry out flagging procedures and construction equipment operation, and adhere to safety procedures.
Applicants will be placed in one of three locations Greenbrier Yard (925 Executive Blvd.), Hickory Yard (149 Benefit Rd), or Bowers Hill Yard (3900 S Military Hwy), depending on operational needs.

Required Qualifications
VOCATIONAL/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Requires completion of 10th grade in high school. High school diploma, GED/HSE, or specialized vocational training is preferred.
SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:
Requires a valid drivers license and a driving record that is in compliance with City Driving Standards. A Commercial Drivers License (CDL) Class A is required. Specialized certifications may be required based on department assigned.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
In addition to satisfying the vocational/education standard, this class requires a minimum of one year of related, full-time equivalent experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Performance of essential functions may require exposure to confined spaces. Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies. Emergency operations support work and work locations may be outside of normal job duties.
