Job Description

As an Equipment Operator Foreman, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our field operations. You will lead, mentor, and work alongside a dedicated crew, overseeing the full scope of equipment operation. This position blends hands-on technical expertise with strong leadership, tasking you with solving complex on-site challenges, ensuring project efficiency, and fostering a culture of safety and growth through on-the-job training. Duties and Responsibilities

The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.

  • Leads and coordinates the work of a group of employees; assigns and prioritizes tasks; guides employees to instruct or advise on tasks or assignments
  • Operates construction vehicles and equipment and serves as lead worker for maintenance and repair work assignments
  • Provides guidance and training to crew workers for jobsite equipment
  • Responds to and troubleshoots issues encountered during the course of work and maintains good communication with supervisor
  • Maintains activity logs, records, and work-related documentation

Typical Qualifications

Education and Experience

High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalency; 3 to 5 years experience in light to medium construction equipment operation, or related work

OR

Any equivalent combination of training and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be substituted

Licenses or Certifications

  • Valid North Carolina Class C Drivers License with a satisfactory driving record, or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire
  • Valid North Carolina Class A Commercial Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record, or the ability to obtain within 90 days of hire

OR

  • Valid North Carolina Class B Commercial Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record, or the ability to obtain within 90 days of hire

Work Environment and Physical Effort:

Medium: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Work Environment:

Work is typically performed in an outdoor environment, at a construction site and in and around vehicles. Employees may occasionally work in an office or similar indoor environment, near moving traffic, and in confined spaces.

Work Exposure:

There is frequent exposure to fumes and airborne particles and loud noises. Employees may occasionally interact with individuals who are hostile or irate, in extreme cold (below 32 degrees) in extreme heat (above 100 degrees) and around moving mechanical parts.
