Overview FLSA: EXEMPTReports To: Sr. Manager or Director of Equipment EngineeringLocation: Milpitas, CaliforniaSummary Under the direction of the Sr. Manager or Director of Equipment Engineering, the Equipment Engineer-Vacuum is responsible for the evaluation, selection, installation, modification, upgrade, and maintenance of semiconductor tools in an assigned area. Uses AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar software to draw diagrams or schematics; analyzes data, compiles reports, presents findings, and recommends corrective action if required. Manages projects of various size, scope, and budget; consistently seeks opportunities to optimize tool performance, increase yield, and lower overall operational costs.Essential Functions Researches, evaluates, and recommends the selection of tools in an assigned area which improve yield and lower operational costsAnalyzes tool data, compiles reports, presents findings, and recommends corrective action if requiredManages projects of various scope, schedule, and budget to ensure established timelines are metCoordinates, tracks, and prioritizes tool maintenance to ensure maximum tool uptime; ensures that all tools are maintained per the established schedule and within specificationUses AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar software to draw diagrams or schematicsResponds to inquiries regarding equipment or tool issues from other departments or groupsEnsures that all objectives are consistently attained in the areas of quality, productivity, yield, and costCollaborates with engineering or other cross-functional groups to resolve maintenance issues, improve equipment reliability, review procedures, and minimize equipment downtimeInvestigates and implements countermeasures to prevent repetitive breakdown of parts; maintains spare parts inventory to ensure appropriate level of available partsResearches, develops, and implements an emergency tool recovery plan to ensure tools remain functional during hard down situationsComplies with all ISO 9001:2015 processes and proceduresAdheres to all safety policies and procedures as requiredPerforms other duties of a similar nature or levelQualifications Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Electronics and/or equivalent relevant experienceThree years of experience working as an Equipment Engineer or Sr. Equipment Maintenance Technician in a high-volume manufacturing environment in the semiconductor industryOne year of hands-on experience working with semiconductor tools and equipmentExperience using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar softwareProficient in Microsoft Office applicationsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge and ability to research, evaluate, order, install, maintain, or upgrade various types of equipment, tools, or tool setsKnowledge of semiconductor manufacturing principles, practices, and techniques as they relate to equipment engineering and maintenanceKnowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office to create spreadsheets, Word documents, and presentationsKnowledge and ability to use AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar software to create schematics or drawingsAble to manage projects of various scope, schedule, and budgetAble to implement procedures and processes that increase reliability, improve yield, lower cost, and improve tool performanceAble to analyze data, compile reports, and recommend corrective actionAble to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of contractors, consultants, employees, and managementAble to work productively and collaboratively with all levels of employees and managementAble to comply with all safety policies and proceduresDemonstrated organizational and time management skillsDemonstrated ability to repair and maintain various types of manufacturing tools and equipmentDemonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting skillsFlexible and able to prioritizeCompensation The annual base salary for this full-time position is between $120,819.00 and $149,247.00 + bonus target + benefits. Within the range the individual pay may differ depending on additional factors including job responsibilities, job-related knowledge, skills, abilities, education, and experience. The annual base pay range shown is subject to change and may be modified periodically.Working Conditions The Equipment Engineer - Vacuum works primarily in an indoor environment from Monday through Friday. The schedule may be altered to meet business or operational needs; may travel between buildings as needed. Works in a class 100 ESD-sensitive wafer manufacturing facility; wears a cleanroom suit, including hood, gloves, safety glasses, booties, and mask. May be exposed to hazardous conditions, chemicals, fumes, and/or gases; may be exposed to loud noise. Stands, walks, bends, twists, and crawls; may be required to work in crawl spaces or other areas that could cause claustrophobia.
