** THIS POSITION WILL BE ONSITE AT SAMTEC IN NEW ALBANY, IN**
- Primary point of contact with all external machine vendors, including answering questions related to component substitution, design/drawing issues, tolerances, etc.
- Works with internal Automation, Process Engineering, and Operations teams to develop new machine scopes.
- Ensure external vendors have access to and are following all applicable Samtec standards.
- Create all RFQs for both capacity build and new design machines as needed.
- Coordinate and manage schedule for builds including timing for shipment of consigned parts.
- Organize any ongoing meetings needed between external vendors and internal Automation team.
- Manage external design reviews as needed for new design projects.
- Works with Samtec associates in various global locations to coordinate product materials needed for debug and runoff/qualification.
- Develop test plans as needed for FAT at vendor in coordination with Product Engineering and Operations.
- Communicate any issues or schedule changes and develop plans to mitigate.
- Communicate with global production sites for machine transfers upon FAT completion.
- Coordinate qualification plans at receiving site with local engineering teams.
- Develop contingency plans or recovery plans as required.
- Report on capability, capacity, and OTD for all external machine vendors.
- 5+ years relevant working experience with an Engineering Degree. Experience in some or all of:
- Automation Machine Design
- Design for Manufacturing
- High Speed Assembly Equipment
- Machine Tools
- Precision Tooling
- Industrial Machine Control Systems
- Project management.
- Solid interpersonal communication skills, a professional demeanour, cooperative personality and a team attitude are all required. Works well with others and interacts effectively and efficiently with internal and external people and groups.

- Ability to use SolidWorks and MS Office Suite, SharePoint Document Management and general computer literacy
- Extensive cross functional team expertise including technical and non-technical work

- Motivated, high achiever, persistent and conscientious.
- Must be able to sit/stand for at least 90 consecutive minutes, and not suffer from any sensory deprivation and/or paralysis of the limbs.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering is preferred.
