Job Title: Environmental Specialist
Location: Atlanta, Georgia, United States

Responsibilities
- Oversee environmental permitting and compliance for water programs, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to promote sustainable practices and minimize environmental impacts.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with water quality, stormwater, and erosion and sedimentation control regulations.
- Conduct environmental audits and assessments, identify compliance gaps, and recommend corrective actions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
- 3-7 years of experience in environmental permitting and compliance
- Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission certification as an inspector, design professional, or plan reviewer preferred
- Working knowledge of construction stormwater Best Management Practices and erosion and sedimentation controls
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations and permitting processes
- Experience with the federal Clean Water Act, Georgia Water Quality Act, Georgia’s NPDES Storm Water Discharge General Permits, and the Georgia Erosion & Sedimentation Act
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders
- Willingness to travel 10-25%, with potential for higher occasions
