Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities & Experience Opportunities
You'll play a hands-on role delivering impactful environmental services by performing Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) reviews. Your work will span important regulatory programs, including:
Section 7 of the Endangered Species Act
Section 404 Permitting
Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA)
Conduct desktop research of readily available resources to evaluate project sites for the presence of natural and/or cultural resources and potential environmental issues and compliance with state, local and federal regulations.
Consult with other technical professionals and supervisor on routine and complex projects.
Perform site visits, field observations and field data collection; analyzing data and reporting results.
Manage permit applications and technical document reviews, including proposals, reports, and regulatory agency correspondence.
Conduct field investigations, including soil, groundwater and vapor sampling
Analyze environmental data and interpret results
Research historical and regulatory records
Coordinate with regulatory agencies and key stakeholders
Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
Be responsible for maintaining Terracon's established quality standards on all projects.
Prepare clear, concise technical reports that translate complex environmental concepts into actionable insights for clients
Performs other office, laboratory or field studies and duties that may be assigned by more senior level professional staff or the Department and/or Regional Manager.
This position offers a great balance of fieldwork and office-based analysis, allowing you to build a well-rounded consulting skillset.
