Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities & Experience Opportunities

  • You'll play a hands-on role delivering impactful environmental services by performing Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) reviews. Your work will span important regulatory programs, including:

  • Section 7 of the Endangered Species Act

  • Section 404 Permitting

  • Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA)

  • Conduct desktop research of readily available resources to evaluate project sites for the presence of natural and/or cultural resources and potential environmental issues and compliance with state, local and federal regulations.

  • Consult with other technical professionals and supervisor on routine and complex projects.

  • Perform site visits, field observations and field data collection; analyzing data and reporting results.

  • Manage permit applications and technical document reviews, including proposals, reports, and regulatory agency correspondence.

  • Conduct field investigations, including soil, groundwater and vapor sampling

  • Analyze environmental data and interpret results

  • Research historical and regulatory records

  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies and key stakeholders

  • Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.

  • Be responsible for maintaining Terracon's established quality standards on all projects.

  • Prepare clear, concise technical reports that translate complex environmental concepts into actionable insights for clients

  • Performs other office, laboratory or field studies and duties that may be assigned by more senior level professional staff or the Department and/or Regional Manager.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, Natural Resources Management, Biology, or related natural science field.
  • Two years of experience is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.
