Job Title: Environmental Project Manager

Job Description

Oversee every phase of environmental projects-from planning through implementation-ensuring quality, consistency, and regulatory compliance. Projects range from $150k to multi-million dollar Superfund sites, Brownfields, and US EPA projects across various locations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a team of junior level environmental scientists and design projects.
  • Manage contracts, purchase orders, project documentation, and coordinate with clients, regulators, and subcontractors.
  • Take charge of project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and ensure timely payments and accurate reporting.
  • Lead monthly project review meetings, communicating progress and updates to clients, management, and project teams.
  • Develop and implement health and safety plans, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, quality standards, and permitting requirements.

  • Knowledge of New York State environmental regulations and guidance
  • Experience preparing proposals, project plans, extra work authorizations, and project closeout documents
  • Occasional travel required
  • Experience with environmental construction, soil sampling, geology, and report writing
  • OSHA 40 and HAZWOPER certification
  • Budget management and permitting
  • Consulting experience preferred
  • PMP, PE or equivalent professional license preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office; knowledge of MS Project, Primavera P6, or Deltek Vision preferred
  • Embrace a "seller/doer" mindset, actively developing new business opportunities
  • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships

Work Environment

Work primarily in an office environment. The role involves occasional travel to project sites. Collaborate with skilled ecologists, scientists, engineers, and project managers in a purpose-driven environment that supports continuous professional development. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Syracuse, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52.88 - $57.69/hr.
