Maul Foster & Alongi, Inc. (MFA) is seeking a full-time Environmental Planner with the flexibility to work out of any of our offices. As our Environmental Planner, you will manage diverse projects, primarily in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho, collaborating with clients and stakeholders. Your project management expertise, coupled with a passion for land use and environmental planning will drive successful outcomes. As an Environmental Planner, you will be involved in all aspects of project execution, from analysis, report and proposal writing to comprehensive project management. As an Environmental Planner, you will...
work on a wide variety of projects that help clients move important site development, restoration, and infrastructure projects forward throughout the Pacific Northwest. One day might involve helping a client navigate a complicated permitting pathway for a waterfront project, while another could include coordinating with agencies on environmental review requirements, facilitating stakeholder discussions, or collaborating internally to solve challenges tied to wetlands, habitat, or land use regulations.
You'll be involved throughout the life of a project, helping shape permitting strategies, preparing environmental review documents and permit applications, coordinating with regulatory agencies, and supporting clients through complex federal, state, and local requirements, including NEPA and SEPA processes.
This role is highly collaborative, and relationship driven. You'll work closely with planners, scientists, engineers, GIS specialists, and communications professionals while building strong relationships with clients, agencies, and project partners. As you grow in the role, you'll have opportunities to mentor junior staff, contribute to business development efforts, attend conferences and industry events, and continue developing your own area of expertise within environmental planning and permitting.

Compensation Range: $84,000 to $104,000 a year
