Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) CoordinatorLocation: Richmond, VAEmployment Type: Direct HireStarting Salary: From $70,000 annually, with higher compensation available based on experience.Position SummaryWe are looking for an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator to help support workplace safety initiatives in a manufacturing and fabrication setting. This position works closely with employees and supervisors to identify hazards, encourage safe work practices, assist with safety training, and help maintain compliance with company and regulatory safety requirements.This is a hands‑on role that requires spending time on the production floor, building positive relationships with employees, and helping create a safe and productive work environment.Key ResponsibilitiesSafety Monitoring & Employee SupportMaintain a regular presence throughout production and fabrication areas.Observe daily work activities and identify potential safety hazards.Encourage employees to follow safe work practices and address unsafe conditions.Promote a positive, team‑focused safety culture.Inspections & CompliancePerform routine safety inspections and workplace observations.Document hazards and monitor corrective actions through completion.Assist with compliance to company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.Recommend improvements that help reduce workplace risks.Training & Safety CommunicationAssist with new hire safety orientation and onboarding.Support toolbox talks, safety meetings, and employee training sessions.Provide day‑to‑day coaching on safe work practices.Help communicate safety expectations and company initiatives across all departments.Incident ResponseAssist with reporting workplace injuries, incidents, and near misses.Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis.Help develop corrective and preventive action plans.Follow up to ensure recommended improvements are completed.Safety Program SupportMaintain training records, inspection reports, safety documentation, and compliance files.Assist with internal audits and regulatory documentation.Support ongoing improvements to safety programs and workplace processes.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Risk Management, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
