Pay Range:                                   $30-$35.00/hr on W2
 
 
 
We are seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Specialist to support engineering and manufacturing operations across two Massachusetts sites. This role will focus heavily on environmental compliance, hazardous waste management, and sustainability initiatives, while also supporting broader safety and industrial hygiene programs.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing hazardous waste, conducting EHS inspections, supporting regulatory compliance, and collaborating cross-functionally with engineering and production teams.
 
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and enhance EH&S programs including:
    • Job Hazard Analyses (JHA)
    • PPE assessments
    • Ergonomics evaluations
    • Contractor safety programs
  • Conduct EHS inspections and audits
  • Perform noise surveys, ventilation assessments, and industrial hygiene sampling
  • Conduct respirator fit testing
  • Manage hazardous and universal waste accumulation areas:
    • Proper labeling
    • Routine inspections
    • Compliance documentation
  • Support environmental compliance reporting and regulatory documentation
  • Lead environmental initiatives aligned with corporate sustainability goals
  • Conduct root cause investigations for incidents and safety concerns
  • Track corrective actions and support injury reduction initiatives
  • Develop and deliver EH&S training programs
  • Support behavioral-based safety programs and emergency response efforts
  • Interpret OSHA, NIOSH, and ANSI standards to ensure compliance
  • Analyze safety metrics and identify continuous improvement opportunities
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (Environmental Health & Safety or related field)
  • 1–2 years of relevant EH&S experience in manufacturing or engineering environments
  • Hands-on experience with hazardous waste management:
    • Waste handling
    • Labeling
    • Inspections
    • Hazard Communication training
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and ANSI standards
  • Experience supporting environmental compliance reporting
  • Practical understanding of industrial hygiene principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience delivering EH&S training
  • Familiarity with EH&S databases or reporting systems
  • Experience supporting sustainability initiatives
  • Aerospace or regulated manufacturing environment experience
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
Work Location & Travel
  • 75%: 50 Apple Hill Drive, Tewksbury, MA
  • 25%: 350 Lowell Street, Andover, MA
  • Structured schedule between sites with flexibility based on business needs
