Give us your best, and we will give you ours!Work hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30 am -4:30 pmJOB DUTIES:Provide administrative and clerical support for Environmental Health programs, including food safety, public swimming pools, recreational camps, and other environmental health services.Process applications, permits, inspection reports, invoices, correspondence, and other program-related documents with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.Maintain and update records in multiple software systems and databases, ensuring data integrity, completeness, and compliance with departmental and state requirements.Demonstrate the ability to learn, navigate, and work efficiently within multiple computer programs while managing competing priorities and deadlines.Serve as a backup for additional Environmental Health programs, including plumbing, sewage treatment systems, and nuisance complaints, requiring the ability to understand and apply various program procedures and regulations.Answer and direct telephone calls, greet visitors, and provide professional customer service to residents, food service operators, contractors, vendors, healthcare facilities, and other stakeholders.Communicate effectively with internal staff, state agencies, and members of the public regarding permits, inspections, licensing requirements, and program procedures.Prepare reports, correspondence, and other documents for Environmental Health management and state reporting requirements, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.Operate standard office equipment and technology, including computers, scanners, copiers, multi-line telephone systems, and electronic record management systems.Process payments, issue receipts, reconcile daily transactions, prepare deposits, and maintain financial records in accordance with established accounting procedures.Serve as a backup for front office operations, including the issuance of birth and death certificates through the Vital Statistics system, requiring strict adherence to confidentiality and recordkeeping standards.Work collaboratively with Environmental Health staff, administrative personnel, and management while maintaining the ability to work independently and manage assigned responsibilities.Exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and consistently demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy in all aspects of work.Perform other duties as assigned by the Environmental Health Director, Director of Administration and Support Services, or Health Commissioner.MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING/EXPEREINCE:High School DiplomaMust have excellent organization skills and effectively communicate in person and in writingHighly organized and self directedREQUIREMENTS:Reliable TransportationValid Ohio Driver's License & Proof of Auto InsuranceBackground CheckPre-Employment Drug TestBenefits:Health Insurance (Medical/Dental/Vision/Prescription)Retirement Plan (OPERS)Paid Sick and Vacation Time13 Paid HolidaysOhio Deferred Compensation (Comparable to 401K)Employee Assistance ProgramQualify for Public Loan Forgiveness ProgramWellness ProgramQualify for Public Loan ForgivenessJob Type: Full-timeBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid time offRetirement planVision insuranceTo apply, please send your cover letter and resume to [emailprotected].
