Environmental Health and Safety Specialist IV
Location: Clark, NJ
Pay Rate: $37.65/hr
Duration: 6 Months

Job Description

The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist supports site-wide EHS programs with an emphasis on data analytics, regulatory compliance, environmental permitting, and waste management. Responsibilities include maintaining EHS metrics and dashboards, supporting environmental compliance activities, coordinating hazardous and non-hazardous waste programs, managing regulatory documentation and records, supporting audits and inspections, developing EHS training materials, and assisting with continuous improvement initiatives and incident investigations.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field preferred

  • Equivalent experience will be considered

Required Skills

  • 7–10 years of EHS experience in manufacturing, industrial, or related environments

  • Experience managing chemical waste programs, including waste profiles, manifests, and vendor coordination

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, charts, and data analysis functions

  • Experience with EHS reporting systems, incident management platforms, LMS, or environmental tracking tools

  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and environmental compliance requirements, including air permits, emissions tracking, wastewater, stormwater, and waste management regulations

  • Experience conducting EHS inspections, compliance audits, and maintaining regulatory documentation and evidence files

  • Experience developing EHS dashboards, metrics, trend analyses, and regulatory reports

  • Experience researching and interpreting EHS regulations and industry standards

Preferred Skills

  • Professional certifications such as ASP, CSP, CIH, or CHMM

  • Experience supporting risk assessments, exposure reduction initiatives, and EHS digital tools

  • Experience with continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S and visual management programs

  • Project management experience within EHS programs
