Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety Manager
Job Description
This role provides direct Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) support and leadership to various sites. The successful candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment and possess the ability to direct, plan, establish, and implement programs to ensure the highest level of safety for employees, facilities, and equipment. As a Regional EHS Manager, you will ensure safe work conditions and practices that comply with all applicable EHS regulations and company policies. You will also coach site management and personnel on recognizing, eliminating, and controlling occupational hazards and environmental risks. This position requires an experienced professional with excellent communication, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide close coaching and support to Plant Managers and staff to achieve a zero-injury work environment.
- Analyze and evaluate current EHS programs, policies, and practices to ensure compliance with all local, state, and national regulatory requirements, as well as company EHS standards.
- Implement and maintain EHS programs and policies to minimize safety risks and occupational hazards.
- Establish EHS monitoring programs to ensure activities meet established requirements.
- Maintain site records for occupational and environmental health and safety, including documentation on training and certifications.
- Manage key performance indicators to track EHS progress on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Coordinate and implement the company"s Critical To Life standards within the region.
- Evaluate new processes and modify existing processes and facilities to meet new requirements.
- Participate in teams responsible for implementing new products and processes.
- Manage workers' compensation activities at the sites.
- Establish standards for measuring environmental, health, and safety performance.
- Coordinate and administer EHS-related training to ensure employees are aware of their responsibilities and operate safely.
- Maintain and improve the accident and incident reporting system.
- Investigate accidents and incidents to determine causes and recommend changes to work practices or equipment.
- Investigate ventilation, exhaust equipment, lighting, and other conditions affecting employee health and efficiency.
- Prepare safety and compliance reports as required by management and regulatory agencies.
- Perform other duties that support the overall EHS culture.
- Ensure all sites under your direction comply with governmental regulations.
- Conduct root cause analysis and apply process hazards analysis to operations.
- Be well-versed in sustainability practices.
Essential Skills
- Expertise in EHS, OSHA, and environmental safety.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in an EH&S-related science or engineering field.
- Professional certification as a CSP, CIH, or PE.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience with an emphasis on EHS program management.
- Experience within the food, pharmaceutical, or chemical industries.
- People management and team-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects/programs simultaneously.
- Strong organizational, teamwork, and prioritization skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, listening, and presentation skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in multinational companies and matrix environments is a plus.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% in North America.
- Positive and motivated self-starter with a successful track record in changing environments.
- Ability to communicate with clarity and impact to drive EHS programs and collaborate across all organizational levels.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $55.00/hr.
