Objective of the Job:

Ensure policies, procedures, and all activities are carried out to support BRS goals for the Environmental Program and objectives at the Site level and in the Environmental Department as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1) Ensure Safety, Environmental, Quality requirements and "where applicable" ResponsibleSteel requirements are followed.

2) Supports development and implementation of environmental management system for all employees.

3) Coordinate and support ISO 14001 requirements

4) Documenting environmental compliance inspections of site facilities and operations

5) Review Environmental Department records for accuracy and entry into the BRS Management System/ Intelex software in a timely manner.

6) Recognizing any potential environmental performance issues and determining appropriate course of action.

7) Coordinate Environmental training and record keeping in BRS Management System and Intelex software.

8) Coordinating and assisting in waste management, including solid, hazardous waste management and recycling streams

9) Communicate with vendors on proposals, purchase orders, deliveries, and invoicing.

10) Assist in environmental compliance reporting.

11) Entry of purchase requests into Guide TI for the Environmental Department in a timely manner

12) Perform other duties as directed by the Senior Environmental Coordinator and Environmental Manager, as required

13) Assist Director/Environmental and Environmental Technician in daily activities, if needed

Qualifications:

1) Strong organizational skills

2) Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office/365 applications (Excel)

3) Knowledge and experience of steel industry

4) Able to multi-task with attention to detail

5) Ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines.

6) Self-motivated with the ability to work independently of others with little supervision.

7) Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a positive team player

8) College degree or equivalent recommended

9) Related experience in Environmental Compliance is preferred.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

Position is typically in an office setting with a controlled environment. Physical responsibilities do include going into the mill, external locations, and supplier sites as needed. General work hours are expected with some overtime depending on the workload.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position does not supervise others.
