We are seeking a dedicated Environmental Engineer to join our team. This role involves managing permit applications and compliance programs across multiple environmental media, such as air, wastewater, stormwater, waste, spill prevention, and storage tanks. The ideal candidate will also perform environmental compliance audits, inspections, and program reviews, as well as develop and support various monitoring and spill prevention plans.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage permit applications and compliance programs for air, wastewater, stormwater, and other environmental media.
• Conduct multi-media environmental compliance audits, gap assessments, and inspections.
• Develop and implement monitoring and spill prevention plans such as SPCC, FRP, and SWPPP.
• Oversee and manage junior staff on specific project assignments.
• Lead or assist in the preparation of proposals, including the development of scope and costs.
• Manage project budgets and assist in invoicing as a project or task manager.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, and internal leaders.
• Deliver on multiple projects and tasks within set budgets, schedules, and deadlines.
• Provide field support at client sites, including routine site inspections and sample collection.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor"s degree in Environmental or Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a closely related field.
• 6+ years of experience with multimedia environmental permitting and compliance projects in a consulting environment.
• Proficiency in air permitting, Title V, and water permitting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple clients and projects effectively.
• Basic understanding of industrial activities and environmental regulations.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver"s license.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Master's degree preferred.
• Experience with air quality permitting and compliance in the New Jersey, New York, and New England areas is a plus.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or on track to obtain (FE/EIT) preferred.
• 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification preferred.
• Familiarity with industrial health and safety topics is a plus.

Work Environment

This position requires routine site inspections and field support at client sites. A valid driver"s license and reliable transportation are essential for client meetings and job site visits. The work environment encourages collaboration and teamwork, while also allowing for independent work.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of New Haven, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $133000.00/yr.
