Responsibilities Lead all plant environmental, health and safety compliance and management system functions and activities; train, monitor and mentor both supervisors and managers in applicable modules of the EHS Management System (EHS Insight).Partner with Ops and the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) to build greater awareness and a proactive mindset, fostering employee engagement towards an interdependent safety culture.Under the Direction of the NASP Sr. Environmental Engineer and the Director of EHS, implement environmental programs and practices to ensure compliance with permits and required regulatory programs including RCRA (hazardous waste), stormwater, industrial wastewater, SPCC, and the facility's Integrated Emergency Action Plan.Participate in critical management of change processes with Ops and engineering to ensure employee safety and environmental compliance is considered in the design phase of new or proposed projects.Participate or direct root cause analysis of injuries, incidents, and near-misses to guide and implement effective remedial action to prevent recurrence.Work with Ops, supervisors and the JHSC to achieve leading indicator targets on the EHS Balanced Scorecard; contribute to safety component of the hourly and MMIP bonus programs.Conduct audits in EHS Insight to reduce hazards and ensure regulatory compliance; ensure corrective actions/preventive actions (CAPAs) are assigned to the right individuals and tracked to completion.Coordinate required OSHA training; lead and train employees and supervisors in all subject areas covered under the Mauser NASP Safety Program (train the trainer).Work with HR to ensure that all new hires or transferred workers receive the required orientation training prior to starting their assignments.Under the direction and guidance of the NASP EHS Director, interface with federal, state and local environmental and safety agencies on plant issues.Manage and implement compliance with OSHA, USEPA and State regulations in accordance with government and company requirements; follow the EHS management System guidance and processes.Coordinate with site leadership to develop mutually beneficial solutions to environmental, health and safety challenges; assist in planning and preparation of budgets to ensure future safety needs are met.Communicate effectively, champion and implement changes with a diverse set of internal and external customers.Qualifications Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Health & Safety or related program of study and a minimum of 5 years experience in an EH&S position.Certifications in Environmental or Health & Safety related programs preferred.Experience administering safety training in accordance with OSHA regulations.Experience in OSHA record-keeping related to programs including Lock out Tag Out, Confined Space, Hazard Communication, Injury Reporting and related programs.Superior communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, with ability to work with all levels of the organization.Ability to solve complex problems by seeking information and ideas from various sources; systematic evaluation of information and innovative problem solving.Attention to detail with a calm demeanor and a high degree of accuracy under pressure.Intermediate computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook).Experience with hazardous waste management and Clean Air Act reporting.Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.Ability to travel between NASP Texas facilities (Mansfield, Garland, Bryan).Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.Seniority level Mid-Senior levelEmployment type Full-timeJob function Quality Assurance and General BusinessIndustries Packaging and Containers Manufacturing, Industrial Machinery Manufacturing, and ManufacturingBenefits Medical insuranceVision insurance401(k)#J-18808-Ljbffr
