Position Overview

The Financial Planning Associate plays a critical role in by delivering high‑quality financial planning, investment, and operational support. This position partners closely with advisors to translate client goals into actionable financial plans while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a strong client experience aligned with planning philosophy.

The role is part of an internal planning and operations function and is ideal for detail‑oriented professionals who enjoy behind‑the‑scenes impact, collaboration, and growth within financial services.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Casework (90%):

  • Create basic to intermediate level financial plans with a high degree of accuracy for general OPS subscribers.
  • With guidance, understand and apply special instructions that are outside of OPS standards. Make recommendations for improving standard work and/or work processes.
  • Read and interpret output of financial plans and recognize and resolve basic inconsistencies. May need to escalate to address those requiring more advanced knowledge.
  • Perform final quality checks for peers and more junior staff.
  • Use basic planning and investment knowledge to provide flexibility on standard work.

Team Responsibilities and Client Experience (10%):

  • Gives and receives regular feedback/information in an open and positive manner, utilizing the team's supported communication channels.
  • Recognizes and questions inconsistencies.
  • Contributes to a positive environment by openly communicating new ideas/solutions, perspectives and experiences in team meetings, training sessions, 1x1s and huddles.
  • Demonstrate behaviors that reflect and support the company and department values, vision, and culture of learning/growth.
  • Communication is professional, complete, accurate, and effective.
  • Appropriately escalates non-standard requests to Lead/Mentor as appropriate.
