Job Summary
The Assembler I is responsible for assembling components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies according to established work instructions and quality standards. This role supports manufacturing operations through the use of hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and production machinery while ensuring accuracy, safety, and productivity. The position requires attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Assemble details, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies according to work instructions and specifications
- Use hand tools, bench tools, and power tools to complete assembly operations
- Load and unload contacts, solder shims or paste, and conductors into carbon assembly boats for furnace brazing
- Operate belt furnaces for brazing processes by loading and unloading assembly boats
- Perform basic electrical and mechanical testing, including ground tests and dielectric tests
- Conduct soldering operations and prepare materials by cutting insulation, stripping leads, forming wires, and assembling components
- Operate manufacturing equipment including riveters, squeezers, drill presses, spinners, tappers, belt sanders, and bench grinders
- Load and unload automatic and semi-automatic production equipment
- Package finished products by making cartons, packing materials, and applying labels or stamps
- Inspect completed work for defects and report defective materials, equipment, or workmanship to supervisors
- Move materials throughout the production area as required
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Follow all company safety procedures and manufacturing guidelines
- Receive work assignments from supervisors and/or group leaders and complete tasks within expected production timelines
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Ability to work scheduled hours: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
- Basic mechanical aptitude and hand tool experience preferred
- Ability to perform repetitive assembly tasks with attention to detail
- Ability to stand, bend, lift, and move throughout the shift
- Strong commitment to safety and quality standards
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Basic manufacturing or assembly experience preferred
Work Experience
- Previous manufacturing or assembly experience preferred
- Experience working with hand tools, soldering, or production equipment is a plus
- Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment preferred
