Location: Buffalo, NY (Preferred) / Remote Travel to Buffalo, NY every 4-6 weeks required, with Monday through Thursday onsite during travel weeks. Duration: 6 months contract Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect with deep expertise in Consumer Lending technologies and financial services architecture. This role will drive enterprise-wide technology strategy, architecture roadmaps, and modernization initiatives supporting lending platforms including direct, indirect, auto, and mortgage lending solutions. The ideal candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, guiding architecture decisions across cloud platforms, enterprise integrations, digital banking ecosystems, and regulatory-compliant financial systems. Key Responsibilities Define enterprise architecture strategies, roadmaps, and target-state technology landscapes Design scalable, secure, and resilient enterprise solutions supporting consumer lending operations Lead architecture governance and oversight for large-scale banking technology initiatives Partner with business leaders, product owners, and engineering teams to align technology with business objectives Drive integration strategies across loan origination, underwriting, servicing, and customer engagement platforms Ensure compliance with financial industry regulations, cybersecurity standards, and data governance requirements Develop architecture standards, reference models, and reusable design patterns Evaluate emerging technologies, vendor solutions, and modernization opportunities Present architectural recommendations and strategic initiatives to executive leadership Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field 7+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, cloud architecture, or software engineering 3+ years supporting Consumer Lending technologies within a financial institution Strong knowledge of consumer banking products, lending lifecycle processes, and financial services ecosystems Experience with cloud architectures, APIs, microservices, enterprise integrations, and data platforms Strong understanding of FFIEC, SOX, GLBA, GDPR, and financial services compliance standards Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and strategic planning skills Preferred Qualifications TOGAF, Zachman, or related enterprise architecture framework certification Experience with platforms such as ACAPS, Shaw Classic, Encompass, or Black Knight MSP Experience supporting digital transformation and enterprise modernization initiatives Knowledge of agile delivery models, DevOps practices, and enterprise governance frameworks Key Technologies & Concepts Enterprise Architecture Frameworks Cloud Architecture APIs & Microservices Data Governance & Analytics Consumer Lending Platforms Digital Banking Technologies Enterprise Integration Patterns Cybersecurity & Compliance Agile & DevOps Methodologies Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required. The expected base salary for this position ranges from $51.67 to $86.11. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
