Job Title: Engineering Test Technician - Battery Testing Location: Burlingame, CA Pay: $38-$50/hour Area Code: 650 Zip Code: 94010 Job Type: Contract / Contract-to-Hire Schedule: Shift: First - Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm with a 1 hour lunch An Engineering Test Technician position is currently accepting applications in Burlingame, CA. This role supports the Battery Test Engineering team by assisting with the setup, execution, inspection, and data collection of high-voltage battery testing. You will work in a laboratory environment performing mechanical and electrical testing on battery packs, modules, and components while ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. To be considered for this role, you should have at least four years of mechanical or electrical technician experience, preferably within the automotive, battery, EV, or heavy equipment industries. Job Responsibilities: * Prepare engineering builds for test execution by following detailed work instructions, schematics, and engineering documentation. * Install battery packs, modules, and components into environmental chambers, vibration tables, and automated test stations. * Perform mechanical and electrical inspections on high-voltage battery systems and associated components. * Record inspection results, measurements, and test observations with a high degree of accuracy. * Enter test data into engineering and project management systems, including Jira, Confluence, and Jama. * Assist with the fabrication, modification, setup, and maintenance of test fixtures and equipment. * Identify and report issues with test articles, fixtures, and test equipment to engineering teams. * Support routine laboratory maintenance, organization, equipment calibration, and housekeeping activities. * Follow all laboratory safety procedures and maintain a strong safety-first mindset while working around high-voltage systems. * Collaborate with engineers, technicians, program managers, and cross-functional teams to support testing activities. * Perform other related duties as assigned. Job Qualifications: * High School Diploma, Technical Certificate, or Associate degree in a related field preferred. * 4+ years of mechanical or electrical technician experience, preferably supporting high-voltage battery systems, automotive, electric vehicles, buses, or heavy equipment. * Hands-on experience working with automotive electrical and mechanical systems. * Experience using hand tools, power tools, and mechanical assembly equipment. * Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). * Experience using engineering collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Jama preferred. * Experience using electronic test equipment such as digital multimeters, insulation resistance testers, and vehicle diagnostic tools is highly desirable. * Experience with data acquisition systems and sensors (thermocouples, accelerometers, shunts, rate meters, etc.) is a plus. * Strong troubleshooting, documentation, organizational, and communication skills. * Ability to work safely in a laboratory environment with varying temperatures and around electrical equipment and testing systems. * Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work in confined spaces, and stand, kneel, bend, and reach throughout the workday. * Ability to travel up to 10% as needed.
