Salary Range for position: $34.23 to $42.65 DOQ

EQUIPMENT/JOB LOCATION:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Duties performed will include outside work in climatic weather. A portion of this work is in a typical office environment. It will use common office supplies and equipment, and the noise level in the office is usually quiet. Exposure to computer monitors in the office is typical. Travel to various utility sites within the City is required. Noise level in the field environment can be loud. In the field, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and can be subject to vibration. This position works closely with others.

Do you have any of the preferred qualifications as detailed below? • Knowledge of Municipal State Aid Street standards & reporting requirements • Experience in municipal engineering or construction related field. • AutoCAD experience. • Experience with GIS software • Ability to use electronic total station instruments / GPS equipment • Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) Construction Technician Certification in Bituminous 1 & 2, Concrete 1 & 2, Erosion Control, and Grading & Base 1 & 2, or ability to obtain within one year of hire.

Are you eligible for veterans preference points? The City of Coon Rapids operates under a point preference system, which awards points to qualified veterans to supplement their application. Ten points are granted to non-disabled veterans on open competitive examinations; 15 points are awarded if the veteran has a service connected compensable disability as certified by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (USDVA). To qualify for preference for a competitive exam, you must have a passing score for the position and be a qualified veteran.
