Tesla is accelerating the world's transition to sustainable energy, and we're looking for a dedicated Equipment Engineering Technician to join our Cell Engineering team in Louisville, Colorado. In this role, you will ensure maximum uptime and reliability of next-generation battery cell pilot production and R&D equipment. You'll be hands-on in building, debugging, commissioning, maintaining, and repairing complex mechanical, electrical, automation, and robotics systems in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This position is ideal for someone passionate about rapid problem-solving, equipment ownership, and contributing directly to Tesla's battery technology scale-up.
- Build, install, commission, maintain, and repair mechanical and electrical systems on state-of-the-art cell manufacturing equipment
- Troubleshoot complex issues using root cause analysis and drive effective recovery from machine breakdowns
- Perform hands-on work with automation, robotics, fixtures, and tooling
- Collaborate closely with engineers to optimize equipment performance, reliability, and throughput
- Document maintenance activities, issues, and improvements clearly
- Work in a dynamic environment that includes tight spaces, extended standing, and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent hands-on technical experience
- Proven experience maintaining and repairing mechanical and electrical systems in a manufacturing or industrial setting
- Strong familiarity with mechanical mechanisms, automation equipment, and troubleshooting
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and basic electrical work
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent problem-solving skills and comfort working under tight deadlines
- Strong communication and collaboration skills

Engineering Tech I - $21.96 - $32.94/hour
Engineering Tech II - $25.92 - $38.88/hour
Engineering Tech III - $30.24 - $45.36/hour
Engineering Tech IV - $33.84 - $50.76/hour
Engineering Tech V - $39.24 - $58.86/hour
