Position Summary - Pay Range - $37.00 - 38.50/hr
The working Engineering Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that the property is maintained in the best possible condition at all times. The role is responsible for assisting the Chief Engineer with leading the team, ensuring that the tasks are complete and tickets are closed.
Essential Functions
- Must adhere to the company’s Service culture – 4 Keys to creating guests for life.
- Must participate in all hotel required meetings and trainings.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform/business attire and nametag.
- Follow up with the Engineering team members in relation to the completed tasks and open tickets.
- Coach engineering team members on job improvements.
- Make repairs to resort air conditioning system: change filters, clean coils, replace motors.
- Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment (i.e. boilers, chillers, HVAC-Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning, electrical, etc.).
- Take required readings on equipment and test boilers and record readings.
- Replace and program televisions as needed.
- Replace light switches, receptacles, light bulbs, and fixtures.
- Perform furniture repair and replace and repair pumps.
- Perform plumbing repairs (i.e. clogged drains, copper pipe, change washers, change handles, drain fittings, etc).
- Understand and be able to read blueprints and wiring diagrams.
- Trace and repair all types of water lines.
- Troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment.
- Maintain repair and preventive maintenance records.
- Perform and maintain work to local, state, and Federal codes.
- Test, clean and repair swimming pools, and spas.
- Paint designated areas and all types of wall coverings.
- Repair and finish sheet rock.
- Repair and program resort electronic lock system.
- Abide by all resort policies and safety rules.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in an Engineering role is a must.
- At least one year of progressive experience in a resort or related field preferred.
- Must complete mandatory forklift training.
Working Conditions and Schedule
- Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
- Heavy work - Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 50 pounds of force frequently and/or 20 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- Must be able to stand and work for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to bend, stoop or reach as needed.
- Must be able to work in an outdoor environment with varying temperatures, including temperatures above 100° F.
- Must be able to use hand tools.
- Work requires exposure to chemicals, dirt, odors, noise, slippery/unstable/unlevel working surfaces.
- This role requires operating a golf cart.
