As demand grows for sustainable, data‑driven, high‑performance environments, you'll play a key role in shaping solutions that benefit clients, communities, and the industry at large.In this role you willCollaborate with Principal in evaluation of project requirements and help negotiate acceptable owner‑architect agreements, including fee and time schedule.Develop discipline cost and work‑hour budgets for each project and monitor project costs, completion status against budget schedules/timelines.Oversee all correspondence and pertinent documents, ensuring accuracy, obtaining signatures, and seeking legal counsel as appropriate.Coordinate review and evaluation of contractor bids and work with Principal so that award recommendations can be submitted to owner.Provide day‑to‑day leadership in the absence of and as delegated by the Principal and/or Practice Group Leader, keeping lines of communication open with all office management leaders and assisting with preparation of client billings prior to submittal for signature.Collaborate with Practice Group Leader as requested in the marketing of projects, including development of proposals and possible participation in client interviews.Write scopes of work for engineering design based on preliminary review and meetings with the client.Present complex engineering analysis clearly and effectively to owner and design teams.Research non‑routine code issues and obtain interpretations from code officials.Manage the production of engineering sketches and system schematics for complicated design tasks such as layout of engineering equipment.Prepare engineering opinions of probable cost for engineering systems and review contractor cost estimates.Prepare addenda and change orders; initiate additional service requests for submittal to client.Review drawings and documents to assure compliance with company design and production standards.Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of construction processes and delivery methods such as LEAN, IPD and design‑build contracts.Assist in the education and development of design staff and act as a resource for questions.You will need to haveBachelor's or Master's degree in Architectural Engineering or EngineeringProfessional Engineering (PE) registration preferredMinimum of 15 years experience required; at least 5 years experience designing engineering systemsKnowledge of current technology, IES, LEED and ASHRAE guidelines and all applicable codes (city, state, federal)Working knowledge of building engineering systemsExcellent computer skills in Microsoft Office SuitesProficiency in AutoCAD and working knowledge of Revit essentialSalary InformationThe pay range listed aligns to the geography of the office for which this position is posted. Actual compensation will be based upon work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Individuals in this role working more than 24 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in HGA's robust benefit programs which include an annual bonus and success sharing bonus program, 401(k) guaranteed contribution, paid parental leave, medical, dental and life insurance plans as well as PTO and short‑ and long‑term disability programs.
