The SWE team is looking for an individual with strong OS fundamentals, excellent communication skills, and a desire to join an amazing team who ships OS' that drive Apple's products. We're looking for people who enjoy honing their operational skills to perfection and demonstrating an appetite for continuous improvement.Description Work cross-functionally with multiple teams to understand the requirements for shipping OS software. Provide daily prioritized information to the build and integration team on upcoming releases. Own the responsibility for delivering beta software for Mac, iPhone, iPad, HomePod, Apple TV, Apple Watch to customers and developers. Support engineering teams to execute secrecy initiatives for OS releases to safeguard Apple's most innovative and disruptive Technologies.This role is expected to work a Tuesday through Saturday schedule, with typical core hours of 9 am – 6 pm. Hours may vary based on project and business needs. As part of a pilot program, this role is anticipated to be fully remote for the first 6 months, after an initial 3 month in-office training period. The individual is expected to be based in a suitable home office within a 50-mile, commutable distance of Apple's offices in Cupertino or San Diego. Any changes to schedule and work location will be reviewed and discussed at the conclusion of the 6 month pilot.Responsibilities Converge on developer seeds and customer shipping software by managing source changes for nightly buildsIdentifying, escalating, and communicating key issuesPreparing operating systems for testing prior to deploymentDriving for resolutions on build issues with engineering teamsPerforming secrecy leak-prevention QA for operating systems prior to releaseReleasing software to seed users and customersMinimum Qualifications BS/MS EE/CS/CE or equivalent experienceExceptional verbal and written communicationDetail oriented with project management skillsPreferred Qualifications Build and Release Engineering/Release Management experience highly desirableProject management experience in software development life cycle highly desirableUnix programming/scripting experience highly desirableSelf-motivated and proactive with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilitiesExcellent time management skills; you love to prioritize duties and responsibilities in order to be more effectivePay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $134,800 and $203,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
