Note: Urgent due to launch of product Offering on July 1 and also implementation of first three programs in CA, MA and TX
 
Overview/ Responsibilities:
Description:
  • Coordinates all technical activities of assigned programs. This responsibility includes planning, scheduling, and managing personnel and engineering work to ensure effective coordination of projects.
  • Additionally, the engineering project manager is responsible for the monitoring engineering work for compliance to industry standards, company practices, and customer specifications.
  • The engineering project manager must possess sufficient technical knowledge of their programs to identify problems, provide guidance to staff, and be sure the work product fulfills requirements.
  • Coordinate projects, budgets, proposals, and contracts throughout the organization.
  • Prepare and review documentation including policies, templates, specifications and technical reports.
  • Manage customer expectations, documenting requirements and changes, creating proposals and modifying bids.
  • Develop and train engineers in testing protocols and quality control measures.
 
Job Specific Requirements              
  • The Client Energy Utilities Launch Program Manager is responsible for end-to-end launch readiness of Client Energy Solutions, with an initial focus on the Battery Enabled Heat Pump offering.
  • This role ensures product, channel, marketing, operations, systems, and utility program readiness to support successful market launches and scalable deployments.
  • The role serves as the operational and launch execution counterpart to the Client Energy Portfolio Product Manager, translating product strategy into repeatable launch processes, utility enrollment readiness, and operational execution.
  • The Program Manager works cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Utility partners to ensure Client Energy launches are executable, compliant, and scalable.
 
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and coordinate the product, channel, and marketing readiness for the launch of the Client Energy Battery Enabled Heat Pump.
• Prepare and ensure all process and system readiness for product launches and subsequent Utility Program enrollments.
• Act as the operational point of coordination between Utilities, internal teams, and external partners during launches and deployments.
• Manage and cultivate ongoing operational relationships with key Utility partners.
• Develop, document, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all product and program deployments.
• Become a subject matter expert on all Client Energy tools and act as a primary trainer for internal and external stakeholders.
• Act as a liaison between utilities, partners, and internal teams to ensure alignment on goals, timelines, and deliverables for all launch activities.
• Manage operational relationships with Utility partners, ensuring enrollment, execution, and reporting processes are clearly defined and scalable.
• Prepare Client Energy operations for utility program participation, including incentive processing, measurement & verification support, and compliance requirements.
• Support the successful operation of utility pilots and commercial programs post-launch.
 
Level of Responsibility:
• Influences business decisions made by executive leadership
• Problems faced are complex and require extensive investigation / analysis
• Communicates with senior leadership regarding matters of strategic importance to the organization; conducts briefings with senior leaders in and outside of job function
 
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering, or related fields; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in Program Management, preferably with utilities or in the energy sector.
• Proven success in launching pilot projects or strategic initiatives with utilities and large enterprise partners.
• Ability to travel up to 50% domestically.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with demand response programs, VPPs, or distributed energy resources (DER).
• Familiarity with HVAC and battery technologies or related energy management solutions.
• Proven experience and ability to develop and execute consultative sales strategies that drive value growth for Utility customers
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail, while also able to manage multiple priorities and ambiguity
• Strong negotiation skills: ability to understand contractual, legal language
• Ability to lead and work in cross-functional environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• The ideal candidate for this position is an excellent communicator who possesses a combination of business acumen, industry experience, technical and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with program management and a proven record as an effective leader / influencer is a plus.
