What to Expect
Tesla is seeking highly motivated individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment to take on a wide range of manufacturing and development challenges. This individual will apply his/her technical skills to setup, operate, and adjust high volume production equipment. The Engineering Process Technician is a key member of the Operations Team and support our Sustaining and Manufacturing Engineers in developing innovative processes, equipment improvements, and procedural changes helping accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy.
What You'll Do
Perform equipment setup, operation, adjustments, and minor preventative maintenance tasks to meet safety, quality and efficiency standards for equipment in varying development stages
Identify problems using data and potential solutions to troubleshoot issues as they arise during regular production and engineering builds
Develop operating procedures for equipment or new processes in standard format
Collaborate with maintenance and engineering to develop test methods for process improvements
Participate in the continuous improvement of safety, quality, output, and tool uptime
Support work area safety, cleanliness, material usage and organization
Support production leadership at times in organizing associates and manpower to perform engineering trials on equipment
What You'll Bring
Essential Physical Demands:
Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours a day, including over varied and uneven terrain
Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 35 lbs. including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs
Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reach
Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, or hearing
Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: PAPR, safety glasses, safety shoes, bump caps, and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines
