Description of activities:
· Coach and develop process engineering personnel. This includes but is not limited to: training employees, documenting employee performance, and providing performance feedback (written and verbal) to employees on a timely basis. Recommend promotions/increases for employees based on performance.
· Ensures employees receive training and understand all safety requirements and procedures related to their work. Enforces personal protective equipment requirements.
· Guides and manages team to ensure KPI’s and other performance metrics are met.
· Obtain information from Marketing and Production departments to obtain specifications for the development of new products or for designs for new and existing products. Select vendors to produce the materials, and test new products/packaging to ensure that they meet functional requirements.
· Ensure the data integrity in the Engineering modules of the MRP system. This includes but is not limited to:
Approving all changes to the parts master
Approving all additions or changes to Bills of Materials (BOM’s) and Bills of
Operations (BOO
Approving all other changes as requested through the ECR (Engineering Change
Request) process
· Managing the maintenance of the device master records
· Design new configurations of existing products to meet the price requirements of customers (as communicated by Sales or Marketing departments).
· Manage or oversee projects related to process improvement (manufacturing cell development, plant layout changes, or other lean manufacturing concepts). This involves managing or overseeing the following: development of the concept, drafting of the Capital Acquisition Request (CAR), development of project timelines, completion/delegation various phases of the project, and following up with those responsible for project phases to ensure the projects are completed in a timely manner and within budgetary constraints. Provide periodic updates on progress of project to upper management.
· Develop and manage the Process Engineering Department annual budget.
· Other duties as assigned by management.

Required professional training:
· BS in Engineering
· 5-10 years of experience (at least half of this in a process engineering capacity)
· 2-4 years of management experience
· Demonstrated experience with cost reduction and process improvement
· Ability to write capital justifications
Required proficiencies and additional qualification:
· Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet packages in use
· Working knowledge of AutoCAD
· Thorough knowledge of MRP II or a similar ERP system
· Strong oral and written communication skills—Ability to communicate with employees at all levels and in various disciplines within the organization
Special requirements:
· Ability to understand and carry out complicated oral and written instructions
· Ability to read detailed prints, sketches, layouts, specifications, etc.
· Ability to plan own work activities and direct others
· Moderate amounts of typing and able to recognize color
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $95,000 and up per year
