Engineering Manager (machine design)

Well-established (and growing!) engineering & manufacturing company has an opening for an Engineering Manager. Direct-hire position with outstanding benefits!

Duties:

• Act as a “hands-on” / “working manager” to lead the product & systems engineering group (with 6 direct reports)
• Oversee execution, technical direction, and team development in a customer-specific / machine design environment
• Set and communicate engineering goals, aligned with business priorities
• Work closely with cross-functional leaders to drive new product development, research, and customer programs
• Oversee personnel matters such as hiring, developing/coaching, and evaluating department engineers
• Lead the design electro-mechanical automation/power transmission products (includes precision-machined components)

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or similar
• 6+ years of professional experience
• 2+ years of experience as an engineering manager or engineering supervisor
• Experience as a “working manager”
• Strong machine / systems design experience
• Experience designing or incorporating power transmission/motion control components (motors, gears, actuators, drives, sensors, etc.)
• 3D CAD experience (Solidworks a plus)
• Experience working in a low-volume, high-mix environment preferred
• Strong communication and customer service skills

Salary: $140-160K
