**Job Description** The Engineering Manager, Advanced Manufacturing leads a multidisciplinary team responsible for developing and deploying advanced manufacturing technologies, automation solutions, and production capabilities that support current and future business needs. This role drives the organization's manufacturing technology strategy while ensuring successful execution of innovation initiatives that improve capacity, quality, affordability, and operational performance. The Operations Strategic Capabilities Unit plays a fundamental role in enabling efficient business and program execution from strategic capital investments, industrial operations and an efficient supply chain, to state-of-the-art manufacturing and test operations and top-notch facilities management. **What You ll Do:** + Lead, coach, and develop the Advanced Manufacturing team, establishing priorities, objectives, and resource plans aligned with business needs. + Own the advanced manufacturing project portfolio, ensuring resources are prioritized toward initiatives that deliver the greatest impact to capacity, affordability, quality, and future business growth. + Develop and maintain a multi-year manufacturing technology roadmap aligned with future program requirements and strategic business objectives. + Lead the identification, evaluation, and implementation of advanced manufacturing technologies, including assembly automation, paint automation, additive manufacturing, and automated quality control. + Drive the factory automation strategy, including deployment of robotics, machine vision, automated inspection, and material handling systems. + Serve as the organizational leader for additive manufacturing capabilities, technology implementation, qualification strategies, and capability expansion. + Lead manufacturing-focused IRAD activities, including technology assessments, business case development, and execution of strategic investments. + Establish partnerships with industry, suppliers, universities, and government organizations to identify emerging technologies and best practices. + Provide technical leadership for manufacturing readiness activities, including assessment and deployment of new processes, equipment, and capabilities. + Partner with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program teams to successfully transition new manufacturing technologies into production. + Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule. + Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment. + Perform other duties as necessary. **On-Site Work Environment:** This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required. **Working Conditions:** + Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment. + May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required. + May access other facilities in various weather conditions. **Required Education, Experience, & Skills** + BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 8 or more years related experience. + Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education. + Experience leading engineering teams in manufacturing, automation, aerospace, or related technical environments. + Demonstrated experience managing complex technical projects and cross-functional initiatives. + Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills. \#LI-AD2 A DoW Interim Secret clearance will be required to start work and required to be maintained to continue work. Higher level clearance or access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position. However, the applicant must be willing and eligible for submission, depending on program requirements, after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access. **Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills** + Advanced degree in Engineering or related field. + Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience. + Experience with automation, robotics, and additive manufacturing. + Experience leading technology development, manufacturing innovation, or IRAD initiatives. **Pay Information** Full-Time Salary Range: $132962 - $226035 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
