Our client is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead both the Mechanical Engineering and Electrical/Controls Engineering functions for a manufacturer of complex capital equipment. This role is ideal for a hands‑on engineering leader with strong experience in industrial automation, controls, and multidisciplinary engineering management.


This leader will guide engineering strategy, oversee product development and R&D initiatives, and ensure high‑quality technical execution. The position works closely with Project Management, Sales, and Operations to meet customer requirements and support long‑term business objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Design Oversight: Oversee equipment design, process flow, and adherence to engineering standards.
  • Project Execution: Partner with Project Management to meet specifications, timelines, and quality expectations.
  • Technical Strategy: Drive engineering strategy, R&D initiatives, and continuous improvement across all disciplines.
  • Innovation & Product Development: Promote innovation in equipment design, automation, and system performance.
  • Customer Engagement: Participate in customer technical meetings and presentations with professionalism and clarity.
  • Operational Excellence: Improve manufacturing processes through automation, data analysis, and cost‑reduction initiatives.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Provide technical support to Sales for proposals, new product concepts, and customer requirements.
  • Business Management: Manage engineering budgets, resource planning, and executive‑level reporting on project status and challenges.
  • Engineering Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop Mechanical and Electrical Engineering teams; set priorities, allocate resources, and manage performance.

Qualifications (Must-Haves)

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 3–5 years of engineering leadership or management experience.
  • Proficiency with CAD software and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • 7–10 years of experience in industrial machinery design/manufacturing for capital equipment.
  • Hands‑on experience with industrial automation and controls, including PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA.
  • Strong background in designing, troubleshooting, and delivering complex automated equipment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with FEA and CFD analysis tools.
  • Some mechanical engineering capability or cross‑disciplinary exposure.
  • Experience with heat treatment, thermal processing equipment, or related systems.
  • Familiarity with: Allen‑Bradley PLC (500/5000), Intouch Wonderware and HC900 Design Station.
