Impact Recruitment is looking for an Engineering Group Manager to join our client’s team in Columbus, Ohio.
Responsibilities of the position:
Lead, support, and mentor an interdisciplinary team to deliver multimodal transportation infrastructure in a wide range of contexts from roadway reconstructions and streetscapes in highly urban settings to signature trail projects in suburban and rural areas that highlight and enhance the natural environment.
You will build and support the growth of transportation engineering and civil engineering practices in your region.
You will leverage your experiences to lead projects and support client decision making.
You will help mentor staff on the delivery of your projects and create an atmosphere of mentorship to support your team members.
You will coordinate with office directors, practice directors, and group managers to help manage workloads for your team and your projects.
You will be actively engaged in the hiring of staff to grow your team, and in creating a productive and supportive environment for your staff.
You will continue to leverage and develop your engineering knowledge by working on a wide range of projects which include:
the evaluation and design of multimodal transportation infrastructure, corridor planning projects in suburban and urban contexts, systemic safety improvements at high-risk intersections, delivery of roadway reconstruction and streetscapes plan sets, and signal analysis and design modifications to enhance multimodal safety.
As an Engineering Group Manager, you understand technical software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, or Synchro and help guide your team to complete production work on projects. You participate in business development pursuits in your home region as well as across our North American offices.

Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in civil engineering
Experience with or interest in managing staff
A professional engineering license in Ohio (other Midwest states a plus)
A bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil or transportation engineering
At least 15 years of experience in civil or transportation engineering
At least 3 years serving in a project and/or design management role
A broad knowledge base in civil/transportation/traffic engineering
General knowledge of project performance metrics and strategies for monitoring them
Understanding of MUTCD standards at the state and Federal level
Strong understanding of Computer Automated Design (AutoCAD and/or MicroStation)
Interest in multimodal and active transportation design
The following qualifications are a plus
Experience preparing transportation and local agency permit documents
Experience developing construction documents and/or public agency construction administration
Specific experience in roadway grading, drainage design, geometric design, 3D modeling (Civil 3D and/or OpenRoads/Inroads) and design of accessible public spaces
Knowledge of SimTraffic, Highway Capacity Software, SIDRA and VISSI
Experience with signal design
