Engineering Document Specialist (Manufacturing)

Position Type: Direct Hire

Location: Florham Park, NJ

Salary: $70,000 - $80,000/annually

Experience: 2–4 years

About the Role

Are you a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment? We are looking for an Engineering Document Specialist to serve as the crucial link between our engineering teams and the production floor. In this role, you will own the integrity of our technical data, manage engineering change notices (ECNs), and ensure our manufacturing documentation is accurate, compliant, and accessible.

What You Will Do

  • Document Control & Issuance: Manage the lifecycle of engineering documents, drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs), ensuring accurate version control and distribution.
  • System Management: Supervise day-to-day data entry and workflow tracking within our Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) and SharePoint.
  • Compliance & SOPs: Support internal and external audits by maintaining rigorous compliance processes; assist engineering teams in formatting and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • ERP Collaboration: Utilize our ERP system to track document releases and cross-reference manufacturing data.
  • Data Integrity: Record and maintain precise technical data using advanced Excel spreadsheets and tracking logs.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Experience: 2+ years of document control experience specifically within an engineering, manufacturing, or GMP environment.
  • Tech Savviness: Strong proficiency with SharePoint and standard Document Control tools (e.g., Bluebeam Revu, Adobe Acrobat).
  • ERP/EDMS Exposure: Familiarity navigating and entering data into an ERP system (such as SAP, Oracle, or D365) and a standard EDMS. (Note: Full system administration is not required, but strong user-level competence is essential).
  • Skills: High attention to detail, strong version-control discipline, and intermediate-to-advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, data filtering).
  • Bonus Points: Exposure to CAD environments (like SolidWorks) or experience managing a basic engineering drawing library is a plus, but not required!
