Description

Reporting into the Director of Manufacturing Operations, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Lead and manage the day‑to‑day activities of an equipment engineering and maintenance team across multiple shifts and buildings
  • Ensure manufacturing and test equipment is maintained to maximize uptime, reliability, and safety
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventative maintenance and calibration programs
  • Establish and maintain department procedures aligned with internal standards and external quality and environmental requirements
  • Drive Total Productive Maintenance and lean manufacturing initiatives, including Kaizen and 6S
  • Oversee equipment installation projects, ensuring delivery to agreed timelines and specifications
  • Manage relationships with external service providers and equipment vendors
  • Monitor spare parts, tooling, and equipment inventories to ensure availability and cost control
  • Set departmental objectives and KPIs, track performance, and implement corrective actions where required
  • Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, purchasing, and cost management activities
  • Develop strategic and tactical resource plans for staffing, skills, and equipment capacity
  • Coach, train, and develop team members, including competency reviews, feedback, and career development planning
  • Provide technical guidance and support for troubleshooting complex or legacy manufacturing and test equipment

Profile

  • Proven experience leading equipment maintenance or engineering teams within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Strong background in preventative maintenance systems, equipment reliability, and downtime reduction
  • Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues
  • Experience working within quality‑driven environments and adhering to recognized industry standards
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced operational setting
  • Effective communicator with the confidence to engage across shop floor, engineering, and leadership levels
  • Strong problem‑solving, planning, and organizational skills
  • Comfortable balancing hands‑on technical involvement with strategic leadership responsibilities
  • Experience with microelectronics, electronics, and automated test equipment is highly advantageous
