Position Title: Product Review Engineer 5 – Liaison Engineering
Location: Portland, OR (Onsite)
Duration: 12 Months
Pay Rate: $100/hr (W2)
Shifts: Variable – Must be able to work all 3 shifts (first, second, third) including possible weekends and overtime

Physical Demands: Shop environment exposure – loud noises, vapors (EHS protected), factory setting with stairs, trip hazards, and chemical hazards
We are seeking highly skilled Mid-Level, Senior, or Expert Liaison Engineers to support operations at our Portland, Oregon site. The ideal candidate will be proactive, able to make timely engineering decisions, and eager to work beyond the desk—directly on the factory floor—helping transform design into reality.
This role requires strong communication and collaboration skills to partner effectively with production personnel and serve as the primary engineering representative in manufacturing environments.
Perform root cause analysis and develop dispositions for production non-conformances.
Apply engineering principles to assess and resolve product and process issues throughout the product lifecycle.
Research technical, operational, and quality issues to develop final engineering solutions.
Identify, document, and resolve reported problems that could impact design intent or safety.
Develop and implement product and process improvements.
Participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and design reviews.
Represent engineering throughout the build, production, and post-production phases.
Ensure supplier and partner compliance with established standards.
Develop technical correspondence for safe operation and maintenance of equipment.
Participate in on-site repair teams, accident investigations, and support efforts.
Analyze repair or modification needs for appropriate structural support, safe work environments, and collateral damage prevention.
Design interim structural repairs and perform static strength analysis.
Create non-destructive test procedures, tools, and standards.
Liaison Engineers with experience in the following will be prioritized:
Materials Knowledge
Steel, aluminum, titanium properties and capabilities.
Material forms: bar stock, forgings, castings, machining reactions.
Post-machining processes.
Machining Expertise
Geometry and sequencing for material removal.
Load path analysis for complex shapes.
Surface condition prep and defect identification.
GD&T and Dimensional Tolerances
True position, parallelism, bonus tolerance.
Interpretation of complex engineering drawings.
Spatial Analyzer and metrology methods.
Gears & Shafts
Gear table interpretation and installation requirements.
Fit-up and alignment procedures.
Material Processing
Heat treat, hardening, stress relief.
Plating, anodizing, finishing, corrosion protection.
Functional Testing
Diagnosing performance impacts at the system level.
Acceptance testing criteria.
General Repair Practices
Bushings, heli-coils, inserts.
Blending, re-processing, refinishing, and post-processing protection.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering from an ABET or ABET-equivalent accredited institution.
14+ years of experience in structures, systems, design, or production engineering (Expert Level).
7+ years of prior Engineering Material Review Board experience.
Shift Flexibility: Must be able to rotate between first, second, and third shifts.
Travel: None required.
Team Size: Approximately 20 members.
