Position Title: Product Review Engineer 4 – Liaison Engineering

Pay Rate: $80/hr (W2)

Shifts: Variable – Must be able to work all 3 shifts (first, second, third), including possible weekends and overtime

We are seeking experienced Senior Liaison Engineers to join our team in Portland, Oregon. This is a hands-on role, working directly with production teams on the factory floor to make prompt engineering decisions and ensure seamless design-to-production execution. Candidates must have strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and a track record of delivering high-quality engineering solutions.
Analyze and resolve production non-conformances, including root cause analysis and disposition development.
Apply engineering principles to assess and address product and process issues throughout the lifecycle.
Partner closely with manufacturing teams to implement engineering requirements on the shop floor.
Document and communicate deviations affecting design intent or safety, and drive resolution.
Develop and implement product and process improvements.
Participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and design reviews.
Ensure supplier and partner compliance with established standards.
Prepare technical correspondence to support safe operation and maintenance.
Participate in on-site repair teams, accident investigations, and related support work.
Analyze structural modifications or damage repairs for safety, stability, and prevention of collateral damage.
Design interim structural repairs and conduct static strength analysis.
Develop non-destructive test procedures, tools, and standards.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering from an ABET or ABET-equivalent accredited program.
10+ years of experience in structures, systems, design, or production engineering.
5+ years of experience in Material Review Board (MRB) engineering and dispositioning.
Materials Knowledge: Steel, aluminum, titanium; bar stock, forgings, castings; post-machining processes.
Machining Expertise: Sequencing for material removal, load path analysis, surface condition assessment, machining methods.
GD&T and Dimensional Tolerances: ASME Y14.5, interpretation of datums and profiles, Spatial Analyzer, metrology methods.
Gears & Shafts: Gear tables, spline profiles, bearing/shaft fit, gear engagement and patterns.
Material Processing: Heat treatment, hardening, stress relief, peening, plating, anodizing, corrosion protection.
Functional Testing: Diagnosing operational performance issues, acceptance criteria (RPM, torque, clearances).
General Repairs: Bushings, heli-coils, inserts, blending, refinishing, and post-processing protection.
Travel: None required
Shift Flexibility: Must be able to rotate between first, second, and third shifts
