Product Review Engineer 3 – Liaison Engineering

Location: Portland, OR (Onsite)
Pay Rate: $65/hr (W2)
Duration: 12 Months
Openings: 2
Shifts: Variable – Must be able to work all 3 shifts (first, second, third), including possible weekends and overtime

Position Summary

We are seeking Mid-Level Liaison Engineers to join our team in Portland, Oregon. This is a hands-on engineering position requiring strong collaboration with production teams on the factory floor. The role involves making prompt engineering decisions, resolving production issues, and ensuring that designs are successfully translated into high-quality finished products.


Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and resolve production non-conformances, including root cause analysis and disposition development.

  • Apply engineering principles to assess and resolve product and process issues across the product lifecycle.

  • Partner closely with manufacturing teams to implement design requirements on the factory floor.

  • Document and communicate deviations impacting design intent or safety, and manage resolution.

  • Develop and implement product and process improvements.

  • Participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and design reviews.

  • Ensure supplier and partner compliance with established standards.

  • Develop customer correspondence related to safe operation and maintenance of equipment.

  • Participate in on-site repair teams, accident investigations, and support activities.

  • Analyze structural modifications or damage repairs for safety, stability, and prevention of collateral damage.

  • Design interim structural repairs and conduct static strength analysis.

  • Develop non-destructive test procedures, tools, and standards.


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering from an ABET or ABET-equivalent accredited program.

  • 5+ years of experience in structures, systems, design, or production engineering.

  • 2+ years of experience in Material Review Board (MRB) engineering and dispositioning.


Preferred Experience

  • Materials Knowledge: Steel, aluminum, titanium; forms such as bar stock, forgings, castings; post-machining processes.

  • Machining Expertise: Geometry/sequencing for material removal, load path analysis, surface condition inspection, common machining methods.

  • GD&T and Dimensional Tolerances: Proficient in ASME Y14.5, interpreting datums and profiles, Spatial Analyzer use, and metrology.

  • Gears & Shafts: Gear tables, spline profiles, bearing/shaft fit, gear engagement and patterns.

  • Material Processing: Heat treatment, hardening, stress relief, peening, plating, anodizing, finishing, corrosion protection.

  • Functional Testing: Diagnosing system-level performance impacts, acceptance test requirements.

  • General Repairs: Bushings, heli-coils, inserts, blending, refinishing, and post-processing protection.
