VISTA Technology Services, Inc. (VISTA) is seeking an experienced Engineer to support a NAVSEA programoffice in the development of Mine Countermeasures (MCM) and unmanned systems. This position reports on-site at theWashington Navy Yard 3 days/week.
Responsibilities:
Support NAVSEA program with research, development, production, integrationand sustainment of mine warfare systems and unmannedtechnology and mission packages
Research, analyze, assess and coordinate systems engineering acquisition capabilities documents, decision memorandums, and requirements
Assess software baselines and identifyhardware capabilitychallenges and risks
Assist Team Lead with tracking project schedule and performance
Provideengineeringand management activitiesto ensure supportability implications are considered early and throughout the acquisition process to minimize costs
Prioritize tasks in afast-paced work environment
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or scientific discipline AND5 years of navalsystems engineering experience
Experience in marine infrastructure and/or navy ship design acquisition process
Experience with robotics and autonomy and softwareloads
Experience with software baselines and hardware compatibility challenges
Familiar with Navy systems engineering acquisition
Advance proficiency using MS Excel
Ability to communicate technical concerns within the program office
Ability to assess and address risks
Maintain a holistic technical and programmatic view
Ability to organize and prioritize project tasks
Ability to adapt andpivot in a fast paced work environment
Active DoD Secret Clearance
Additional (Highly Desired) Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred
8 years of naval systems engineering experience preferred
Knowledge of Mine systems,Mine Countermeasures (MCM) and Unmanned Surface Vehicle (USV) systems to support MCM (Mission Package)
Knowledge of the Navy'sacquisition processand key naval acquisition roles and organizations
Professional Engineering Certification
Salary at VISTA is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $115,000.00to $150,000.00(annualized USD) based on years of experience. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of VISTA's total compensation package for employees. We also offer a competitive leave package and a generous benefit plan which includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, tuition assistance, and an employer matching 401(k) plan.
