    Description

    Position OverviewEngineer V, Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) – Direct hire, in‑office at either Charlotte, NC or Stonington, CT. This position is not remote.ResponsibilitiesPerform engineering and design activities for power plant upgrades and new projects.Develop specifications, modification packages, and design criteria documents.Define I&C design scope, control system functionality, architecture, and I/O device interfaces.Plan, organize, and prepare modifications; evaluate, select, and apply standards, techniques, procedures, and criteria.Manage budget, scope, schedule, and quality with minimal guidance.Coordinate with multiple design disciplines and customer representatives.Work with project teams to evaluate conditions and proposed modifications to improve plant performance, safety, and reliability.Review and check designs, drawings, and data prepared by other engineers.Provide mentoring oversight to entry‑level and junior engineers.QualificationsEducation Required: BS in electrical, mechanical, nuclear, chemical, computer, or process/controls engineering from an ABET‑accredited program with coursework in analog and digital control systems.Experience Required: 18+ years total, with at least 8 years in nuclear power (preferably digital/analog controls) and experience with operating procedures, processes, and licensing.Other Required Qualifications: Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), effective time‑management, ability to pass security and drug screening, and maintain unescorted nuclear plant access.
