Job Title: Engineer - Supplier Development III
Location: Merritt Island FL
Type: Contract / On-site
Compensation: $71+ per hour

Overview

We are seeking an Engineer - Supplier Development III to support a leading aerospace client. As a member of the Supplier Recovery Team (SRT), you will engage strategically with suppliers who are not meeting key performance metrics and drive improvements in quality, cost, delivery, and capacity. This role serves as a primary liaison between suppliers and internal stakeholders—identifying root causes of supplier performance issues and developing recovery plans to support production goals.

Responsibilities

  • Improve quality, cost, delivery, and capacity metrics across the supply chain
  • Create, improve, and implement supplier quality and manufacturing processes
  • Review supplier issues and recommend appropriate corrective actions
  • Work closely with receiving, receiving inspection, supplier quality engineers, and quality assurance teams to identify and remove suspect or non-conforming material from inventory and operations
  • Oversee and be accountable for supplier audits to ensure suppliers can meet performance, delivery, and reliability requirements
  • Develop, analyze, and present process metrics to support manufacturability, quality, and supply chain improvements
  • Analyze supplier processes to identify bottlenecks, yield issues, and rate limiters impacting throughput
  • Manage supplier workflows and projects to ensure priorities align with business needs
  • Develop schedules and implementation plans for new parts and processes within the supply chain
  • Support supplier execution against established timelines and production requirements
  • Lead, track, and improve supplier manufacturing process development and launch readiness for new products and engineering changes
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve business processes related to receiving inspection, nonconforming hardware management, manufacturing/assembly, and product traceability
  • Partner with leadership to develop future business models, establish roadmaps, define performance measures, and execute long-term strategic plans

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience improving supplier performance related to quality, cost, delivery, and capacity
  • Experience supporting supplier quality, manufacturing, production, or supply chain operations
  • Ability to identify root causes of supplier performance issues and develop recovery plans
  • Experience analyzing manufacturing processes, throughput constraints, bottlenecks, and process improvements
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
  • Ability to communicate technical issues and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience managing supplier relationships and driving accountability for performance improvement
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities

Special Requirements

  • Domestic travel required up to 50% of the time
  • Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed to meet critical
