Careers - Engineer, Software Development (Methods Development)
HTRI seeks an individual to develop and improve HTRI engineering software for members and to implement engineering methods evolving from ongoing research into our software products. This position is located at our Navasota, Texas headquarters.
Principal responsibilities
Modify existing sotware and implement new engineering methods using Fortran, C/C++, and C#
Use engineering expertise to devise how to implement engineering methods into software modules
Develop and run tests to ensure engineering methods are correctly implemented
Work collaboratively with team members to resolve bugs in existing codebases
Update documentation for implemented/modified methods
Participate in the conception of new requirements
Gain understanding of fundamentals of heat transfer technologies
Perform ongoing quality assurance testing, including pre-release testing
Qualifications
BS, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering (preferred) or BS, Computer Science
Working knowledge of Fortran (required) and at least one of the following: C# or C++
Understanding of numerical methods and simultaneous equations
Ability to translate research methods into production software
Preferred but not essential
MS, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
Knowledge of process heat exchangers
Experience with solving engineering problems using modern processors or GPUs
Working knowledge of Azure DevOps
Individual must possess authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
