Job Description:

Engineer-Level 3 - Senior (11 - 15 Years)

Location: Juno Beach, Florida (Remote)

Role Overview

We are seeking a Project Engineer to support solar farm design and construction. In this position, you will be responsible for managing third-party contractor teams to develop engineering designs for solar projects. Project engineering responsibilities span from initial concept definition to construction and final commissioning. This role requires continuous coordination with diverse project stakeholders, including environmental, procurement, transmission services, and project managers for both early-stage development and construction phases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and manage engineering projects, ensuring designs meet project specifications, safety standards, and performance goals.
  • Manage third-party contractor teams to develop engineering designs for solar projects.
  • Apply value engineering to balance reliability, cost, and performance for complex systems.
  • Coordinate with project stakeholders such as environmental, procurement, and transmission services.
  • Support detailed technical assessments, engineering design reviews, and compliance verifications.
  • Bridge the gap between conceptual engineering and field execution, ensuring best practices are applied throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage schedules and budgets for major capital projects.
  • Lead and mobilize teams of engineers to achieve business objectives.

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor of Science in Engineering is required. Acceptable disciplines include electrical, civil, mechanical, aerospace, or chemical engineering.

Experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required. Experience leading engineering teams and providing oversight for major energy infrastructure projects is necessary. Experience outside of the power industry (aerospace, civil/stormwater, etc.) may be considered.

Technical Skills: A thorough knowledge of various applicable engineering disciplines including electrical, structural, civil, and materials is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineering (PE) certification.
  • Engineering and project management experience on utility-scale solar projects.
  • Experience in other power industry technologies such as DG/commercial solar, wind, BESS, combined cycle, nuclear, hydrogen, substation, or transmission.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills.

Work Environment

This position allows for remote work. Candidates located in or near Florida are preferred. The role requires periodic travel to the office in Juno Beach, Florida, with more frequent trips expected during the initial 3-6 months.
