The Engineer Lead at Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin will serve as a technical hands-on Engineering Lead. Guide a team and participate in manual and automation testing of various data and analytics-based efforts. Lead, implement and drive data and analytics strategy across the organization. Conduct research to construct a presentable testing strategy for ongoing projects. Collaborate with all development and product leads to understand technology and product roadmap. Present a list of gaps, process improvements, goals, and hiring plans and implement the same. Work with landscape of data and data movement within Career Distribution. Build out entire features leveraging our current automation test framework and infrastructure (written in nodejs). Lead and mentor teams specific to engineering. Apply technical expertise in data testing and ETL. Work with live data streams. Utilize PowerBI, Informatica, SSIS, data modeling, data design, data management, Spark, Python, and AWS. Responsible for data framework architecture, data migration strategy and performance as well-as monitoring production performance and ensuring the accuracy of ongoing reporting layer for CRM Book of Business. Analyze, design, develop, deploy, and support software solutions and -frameworks on their supporting infrastructure. Set overall direction for data testing and quality within the Book of Business domain. Accountable for setting direction of metadata testing, data completeness testing, data quality testing, data transformation testing, incremental, performance and regressions data testing. Implement Python and Spark to accommodate new features in every PI by tracing test sets and test cases leveraging XRAY. Develop, review and debug T-SQL code, SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) packages, SSAS (SQL Server Analysis Services) Cubes and Power BI reports with advanced row level security to integrate with CRM (Microsoft Dynamics) application. Work with Agile methodologies/DevOps environments. Coordinate performance testing, security testing and environment management across multiple integrated data streams. Build up CI/CD pipelines in GIT from scratch with quality gates that pull tests from JIRA. 100% Telecommuting available from anywhere in the U.S. Salary $193,835- $248,400 per year.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or related field plus five years of experience as a test engineer or related occupation. Five years of experience must include three years of experience with each of the following: (1) PL/SQL; (2) Unix shell scripting; (3) Informatica; (4) SSIS packages data testing; (5) Big data and Hive data testing; (6) Python and Spark; (7) AWS S3; (8) ETL and data warehouse concepts and testing; (9) GIT package creation; and (10) Testing Maturity Model and SDLC leadership. Must also have two years of Databricks experience.
