- Responsible for developing process flow diagrams (PFD) and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
- Responsible for development of heat and material balance information using various commercial software.
- Assist with sizing and rating various equipment like pumps, horizontal and vertical vessels, heat exchangers, and air coolers.
- Responsible for performing hydraulic analysis and calculations for piping systems.
- Assist with design of relief system, flare header design, relief valve sizing and performing contingency analysis and flare header analysis.
- Participate in various client Process Hazard Analysis reviews (i.e. risk review, HAZID, HAZOP/LOPA).
- Independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications.
- Present technical information to peers or other personnel for review.
- Analyze problems and take appropriate design actions to ensure project meets client expectations.
- Evaluate equipment and processes to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Estimate work hour effort requirements and be able to track and forecast budgets.
- May supervise, coordinate, and review work of a small staff of engineers.
