The Engineer II will perform engineering review and analysis assignments involving smaller, less complex projects under minimal supervision of an experienced engineer or engineering manager. These projects require the ability to apply conventional knowledge in a particular field of engineering and demonstrate the ability to gain, retain and illustrate comprehension of additional knowledge shared by more senior engineers on a project team.

Schedule and Location:
  • The position has a hybrid work schedule consisting of Tuesday through Thursday in the office. Monday and Friday provide the option to work remotely or from the office.
  • This open role is located at our modern ten-story corporate headquarters in Spring, Texas.
What You Will Do:
  • Performs engineering review and analysis assignments under minimal supervision of an experienced engineer or engineering manager
    • Applies conventional knowledge in a particular field of engineering.
    • Review project plans to understand the scope, schedule and assigned work.
    • Prepare written documents, reports and presentations for review by an experienced engineer or engineering manager.
    • Develop understanding of the technical requirements and challenges and provide suggested opportunities of the business to formulate opportunities to enhance effectiveness and efficiency in day-to-day job tasks.
    • Participate in internal and client meetings, including technical discussions, to gain exposure to client requirements and project execution processes.
    • Provide technical support to project teams, including limited assistance with:
      • Reviewing material and energy balances
      • Assisting with equipment sizing or process calculations
      • Supporting process safety or risk reviews as part of a broader team
    • Perform or review pressure relief device (PRD) and relief valve sizing, specification, and documentation in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
    • Track and accurately report hours spent on projects
    • Work with individuals at all levels, provide input to reports and other deliverables, execute multiple assignments, meet agreed deadlines, and adjust to changing client demands.
    • Perform quality assurance on project deliverables.
What You Will Need:

Education and Experience
  • Must have a bachelor's degree in engineering (preferred Chemical Engineering)
  • 2-4 years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience in a plant environment and/or within a consulting services organization preferred

  • This role will involve approximately 30% travel
It Would Be Nice If You Had

Professional or chartered engineer license.
