This position serves as a Traffic Analysis Engineer for the Traffic Analysis Section of the Traffic Survey Group (TSG). This position reports to the Traffic Analysis Supervisor and supports all Traffic Survey Group sections and staff as assigned.
This position is responsible for performing engineering and technical tasks related to planning, processing, analyzing, and publishing generated traffic monitoring data to meet Federal Highway Administration's (FHWA) Highway Performance Monitoring System (HPMS) reporting requirements and to support transportation planning activities of the NCDOT to maintain a Traffic Monitoring System. This position will assist with the development of new traffic monitoring practices to satisfy future FHWA traffic data requirements, a task for which engineering judgement is essential.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in an applicable field of engineering from an appropriately accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Necessary Special Requirements
May require registration as a professional engineer by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors.
