Position Specific Description This position performs extensive engineering analysis for technical decisions to support business unit objectives. Performs engineering, root cause analysis, develop associated cost-effective countermeasures, and provide expert advice for system malfunctions affecting the ability of business unit assets to meet their objectives. Assures designs meet regulatory codes and operability, reliability and cost targets. Develops scope, design criteria, perform complex data collection, and engineering analysis/design for completion of large projects. Develops procedures for testing major components. Provides work directions to subordinate engineers and technicians. Develops short- and long-term resource allocation plans. Job Overview Employees in this role apply diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to broad variety of assignments and related fields. This job is responsible for evaluating, selecting, and applying standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform tasks. This position conducts analysis on system performance and reliability strategy and provides recommendations. Job Duties & Responsibilities Provides engineering, design and environmental support Tracks and reports on project negotiations and performance Delivers company standards, policies, training, and support of organization Prepares communications, presentations and provides support at meetings Formulates researches, and develops improvement measures Works with other departments within the organization to establish customer requirements and project costs Ability to meet attendance and storm duty requirements Ability to work extended hours Performs other job-related duties as assigned Required Qualifications Valid Drivers License (NON CDL) Bachelors degree in Engineering (non-Engineering Technology), OR Masters degree in Engineering, if the bachelors degree is not in a pure engineering field At least one degree (Bachelors or Masters) must be from an ABET-accredited program Experience: 3+ years post-Bachelors degree in engineering Preferred Qualifications Certified Professional Engineer (PE) Six Sigma Black Belt Certified Six Sigma Green Belt Certified Masters Degree Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certified * Six Sigma Master Black Belt NextEra Energy offers a wide range of benefits to support our employees and their eligible family members.
