Engineer (Engineering Development Programn)

Buffalo, NY or Erie, PA

National Fuel is currently seeking an Engineer for an outstanding career opportunity in our Engineering Development Program located in Buffalo, NY or Erie, PA (accepting applicants from both areas).

The Engineering Development Program is a two-year rotational program to launch your engineering career with hands-on experience, mentorship, and real-world impact. While designed to facilitate advanced training for early-career engineers, engineers with experience are highly desired and will be matched accordingly. After completing the development program, the engineer will be assigned to one of the groups within the engineering department that best fits the individual's abilities and company needs.

PROGRAM INCLUDES:

  • Working on major infrastructure projects including new pipelines, compressor stations and gas conditioning facilities.
  • Rotating through various Engineering groups such as Compression, Projects, District, Gas Storage, Integrity, Air, Electrical and Automation, and core operational support functions.
  • Key system support positions such as evaluating system integrity, environmental compliance and construction management.
  • Contributing to teams responsible for emission reduction initiatives and emerging technologies.
  • Seeing firsthand how your engineering decisions improve safety, protect the environment, and support reliable energy delivery to local communities
  • Ongoing feedback and coaching from experienced engineers to guide your growth
  • Clear pathway to placement within Engineering based on performance, interests, and business needs
  • Opportunity to build a long-term career within National Fuel's engineering organization

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management from an accredited institution
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in team-based environments
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills
  • Willingness to travel temporarily within Western NY and Northwestern PA

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degrees in Mechanical, Civil, Petroleum, Environmental Engineering or Construction Management.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

The base salary range for this position is $70,000 -$78,000.

This job posting contains a pay range, which represents the range of pay that National Fuel believes, in good faith, at the time of this posting that it might be willing to pay for the posted job. The specific base pay offered to a successful applicant will be based primarily on relevant professional experience. Other components that may be considered include: individual qualifications, licensures, industry specific experience, education and market demands for specialized skills. The pay range is subject to change at any time based on various internal and external factors. Exempt positions will also be eligible for an Annual Cash Bonus Plan.
