Complete assigned designs and drawings per project specifications. Maintain training and certification needs. Provide sales support for technical issues on proposals and projects and review proposals for accurate scope, technical solution(s), equipment, and labor. Maintain knowledge in current, new, and upcoming technology, equipment, products, and solutions.Essential FunctionsPerform engineering/design work on projects as workflow and necessity dictatesUse AutoCAD and/or REVIT to produce completed drawings.Keep project delivery dates current with chief engineer.Keep current with existing and new products to assure proper design and design implementation with best‑suited products.Assure IPS quality and standardization is applied to engineering/design work as it is produced.Provide sales & technicians support as needed.Review projects that fall into IPS review criteria (by margin percentage, dollar limit, or as requested by peer review.)Maintain certifications and training needs.Accept and resolve calls from customers or IPS field technicians with installation or technical questions.Accept and help to resolve calls from AHJs regarding permit application questions.Required QualificationsMust have minimum associate's degree in engineering or related fieldMust be NICET III or higher certifiedMust have high knowledge using AutoCADMust have high knowledge of physical security systems and access control systemsMust have high knowledge of IP networks, functionality, and implementationHigh knowledge in commercial, industrial, and institutional fire alarm, special hazards suppression, intrusion, access control, and closed‑circuit television systems, equipment and applicationsHigh Knowledge in state and local building codesPossess excellent math, language, and reading skills. Must fluently speak, read, and legibly write in English. Must have aptitude to pick up technical information.Must be self‑motivated; able to perform with little supervision.Excellent computer skills-must be able to navigate company software and third‑party inspection software, enter data and send communication. Requires excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.Possess good interpersonal skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, and a professional approach.Physical Requirements & EnvironmentThis is a largely sedentary role; however, occasional travel to jobsites to assist with walk‑thrus will be requiredThis job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machinesAll employees of IPS are subject to random drug testing per our Drug Free Safety PolicyBackground check required.
